Obituary

Adeline C. "Addie" Holton, 89, of Superior, Wis. died Tues., Mar. 13, 2012 in her residence.

She was born to Teckla and Victor Thompson in Summit Township, Wis. on Nov. 22, 1922 and remained a lifelong area resident.

Adeline and her husband, Donald K. Holton owned and operated the Sunshine Motel in South Superior for 23 years.

She was a member of Holy Assumption Church; Tidal Wave Railroad Aux.; the Aux. to B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 403; and the V. F. W. Aux.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald on Oct. 20, 1990; two sisters and six brothers; and her longtime special friend, Nellie Bird.

Addie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barbara "Barb" (John) Moy of Rosedale, Ind.; a son, Thomas Holton of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews including a very special niece and caregiver, Sally Thompson.

Visitation will be in Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St., on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will resume Monday at Holy Assumption Church from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson as Celebrant. Committal prayers will take place in the Summit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rich and Kyle Thompson, Jim and Jerry Johnson, Collin Holton and Paul Finkbeiner.
