Adeline L Sharpe, formerly of Superior, WI, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2015, at the Memory Care Center at Edgewood Vista in Hermantown, MN.
Adeline was born in Sand Creek, WI on January 7, 1921, the daughter of George and Florence (Gilstad) Runkle and sister to Gaylord Runkle (Ardis).
She attended school in Barron, WI and married Lyle Prine in 1939 and had three children, Roger (Yoko) Prine of Gurnee,IL, Floy Ann (Charles) Nikolai of Isle, MN and Terry L. Prine, who passed away on December 31, 2014. Lyle passed away in 1967.
In 1978 Adeline was remarried to Clarence J. Sharpe, adding 3 children to their family (Joan Dahlgren, Skip (Connie) Sharpe and Michael Sharpe). Her husband Clarence passed away in April of 2012.
Adeline was a long time employee at J. C. Penney, an active member of Navy Mothers, a dedicated volunteer of Thrivent for Lutherans and a devoted member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Superior.
Adeline was the foundation of a large loving family and is survived by her two children, 3 step children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.
The committal service will be held in Dallas, Wisconsin, at a later date.
