Agnes Lucille Benjamin, 86, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Superior.
Our mother and grandmother found comfort and compassion the last two weeks of her life at Golden Living where she had shared her talents as a cook years ago. Known for her feisty spirit she had a passion for community involvement which included Girl Scouts, P.T.A., the Moose Club and Senior Center.
Fortunately for her family we were all able to be by her side where she kept reassuring us of her love for all of us. Her journey here on Earth began March 2nd, 1925 until she knew it was okay to go Home on Sunday, June 26th, 2011.
How precious are the friendships that endure when losses seem almost unbearable. For our mother and grandmother those that preceded her in death were her parents, Philip and Mary Fudally; in-laws, Dan and Mildred Benjamin; sisters, Margaret Fudally and Theresa Brown; husband, Walter; son, William "Benji"; son-in-law, Don Gilbertson; and most recently significant other, Wally Halonen.
Those of us that are survived by her are her brother, John Fudally, of Port Angeles, Wash.; sister-in-law, Mardell Ambroz of Chicago; daughters, Margaret Gilbertson of Oakdale, Minn. and Angie (Dave) Rikkola of Superior; son, Walter of Superior; daughter-in-law, Sharon Harms of Esko; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren with another due in January; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring her wishes a private graveside service was held on Thursday, June 30th 2011.
Downs Funeral Home, on 19th and Ogden, kindly assisted with all the arrangements.
