Agnes M. Mihalak, 98, of Poplar, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Superior.

Agnes was born in Moquah, WI on Aug. 16, 1920 the daughter of Stephen and Anna Friedman.

She was a farmer who enjoyed working on her farm and had worked for the Maple School District Lunch Program. She was a member of St. Anthony's Altar Society, the Poplar PTA, and the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Up until the age of 92, Agnes enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and taking care of her farm. She was always available to babysit her grandchildren and was never too busy to enjoy a cup of coffee and baked goodies with family and friends.

Agnes was humble, loving, and caring. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; daughter, Delores Hepburn; son-in-law, Thomas Kubarek; sisters, Veronica Friedman, Ann Sandor, Mary Guernsey, Margaret Gerbozy, Verna Opatik; and longtime family friend, Robert Salomaki.

Agnes is survived by her children, Jean Mihalak of Bloomington, MN, Donald (JoAnn) Mihalak of Poplar, and Joan Kubarek of Poplar; grandchildren, Christopher Kubarek, Joshua (Amanda) Kubarek, Ryan Mihalak, Stephen Mihalak, Jennifer Mihalak, and Angie Mihalak; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Tanner, Dane, Brock, Hannah, Allyson, and Aubrey Kubarek, and Alexa, Kitana, and Domino Mihalak; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Central Assembly of God, 3000 Hammond Ave, with Rev. Tom Miller officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Cemetery.
