Alan R. Dolsen, 87, of Superior, died Friday April 23, 2021 at Essentia St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

Alan was born in Oakland Township, on May 9, 1933 the son of Raymond and Lila (Eckert) Dolsen. He married Julia 'Judy' Rosseau on Sept. 21, 1957 and they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

He served his country in the U.S. Army.

Alan had worked for over 40 years for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring as a Carman. He had also worked winters at Frasier Shipyard, plowed for the Town of Oakland, and served as town Supervisor.

He enjoyed farming, golfing, and bowling. Alan loved to play cards with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Wendy Dolsen.

Alan is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Alan (Kathryn) Dolsen of Hixton, WI, Robert (Karen) Dolsen of Proctor, David Dolsen of Superior, and Lisa (Scott) Rudd of Superior; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles, Warren, James, Eileen, and Esma.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28 ^th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th St., Superior.
