Obituary

Alan James "Jimmy" Lisdahl, 78, of Lake Nebagamon passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI with his loving family by his side.

Alan was born in Superior on May 20, 1944, the son of Ingwald and Edna (Isaacson) Lisdahl. He graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1962. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War (1968-1972).  He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and worked for RTE/Cooper Power Systems, retiring as an Employee Relations Manager. Many have expressed that at work he was a compassionate man who put people first and also knew how to throw a great party.

Alan was a devoted partner to his best friend, partner-in-crime, and wife of fifty years, Carol Lisdahl.  He was an avid curler and golfer, served as family captain for pontoon rides, and loved family visits to Superior/Lake Nebagamon or Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. He was an enthusiastic Wisconsin sports fan, closely following the Brewers, Packers, Bucks, and Badgers. He was a loving and affectionate father and grandfather, continuously slipping his grandsons change for activities and treats at Dairy Queen. Alan was a generous host, whether he was cooking his famous lamb or taking the whole family out to a special dinner. His friends and family will fondly remember him raising a toast to his friends with a cheerful "Skol," while his smiling blue eyes shine brightly and his favorite rock and roll music plays.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Ingwald Lisdahl; his wife, Carol; brothers, Dennis, and Kenneth (Lorraine) Lisdahl; sister-in-law, Toni Ann Foote; brothers-in-law, Richard Foote, Stan Ladich, and Dick Stevenson; and niece Bree Lisdahl. He is survived by his daughters, Greta (Stephen) Rowe of Oconomowoc and Krista Lisdahl of Pewaukee; grandsons, Max, Oscar, and Duke; his brother, Tom (Kathy) Lisdahl; two sisters, Inez Stevenson, and Linda (Ron) Moen; and sister-in-law, Maurine Ladich; and many cherished nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
