Alan E Pederson, 91, of Superior, Wisconsin, died at home on December 26, under the loving care of Hospice of Essentia Health.
He was born December 18, 1930 in Brantwood, Wisconsin to Anne (Hokka) and A. Eugene Pederson.
He graduated from Superior Central High School in 1948, and from Wisconsin State College, Superior, Wisconsin with a B.A. Degree in Biology.
Alan worked for the Great Northern Railroad while he was going to college. He worked for the City of Superior for 32 years; first as City Chemist; then as Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment System.
He served with the Wisconsin Army National Guard for 22 years, with 9 months of active duty.
64 years ago, Alan and Edith (Preston) were married. She survives him, along with sons, Alan "Joe" Eugene Pederson, Jr. and James Patrick (Jeannine) Pederson, Sister, Jean Ann Anderson, two grandchildren, Kyle (Jael Osario) Pederson and Mandy (Magdiel) Espinosa, four great grandchildren and four extended-family great grandchildren.
In his younger days, Alan enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing golf and poker with his pals, and loved playing bridge with his wife and their friends.
He was an experienced craftsman who drew from his natural talents to re-build housing, ornamental fencing, arbors and accessories for landscape beautification. He made good use of his talents when he and wife, Edith, entered into a career business. They opened Pederson's Gardens & Landscapes in 1992. They retired in 2013.
Alan was a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge No. 403.
Service: A Private service will be held.
Alan's family gives heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, loving care provided by the Hospice Care Medical Team of Essentia Health.
