Alexander J. Pfannebecker, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Essentia St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
Alex was born on June 25, 1982 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Aura Lea Carrell and Paul Pfannebecker.
He graduated with the Birchwood High School Class of 2001. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Superior where he was a member of Theta Xi and Mock Trial.
He married the love of his life Laurisa I. Holm on June 26, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Superior. He referred to himself as a guy with a great wife, three kids and a job.
Alex was a peacemaker, and took care of all around him. Most important to him was his family. He loved taking his kids to all their events including figure skating, karate and swimming. He also had a close relationship with his cousins.
Alex was a professional wrestling fan who enjoyed getting together with friends to watch wrestling and often had them as guests on his podcast, "Smark It A Zero". He was an avid collector and enjoyed taking part in the Polar Plunge. He enjoyed his work as a Renewal Account Executive with United Heathcare.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dr. Kenneth R. Carrell; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Dolores Pfannebecker; and father figure Jack Colbert.
Alex is survived by his wife Laurisa; children, Anora, Logan and Kaylea; mother, Aura Lea; father, Paul (Cindy); brother, Maxwell (Janel) Pfannebecker and sister, Audra (Jay) Connell; maternal grandmother, Donnarae Carrell; mother-in-law, Vicky Holm; brother-in-law, James (Christina) Holm; grandparents-in-law, James and Fran Dolsen; nephews, Locke, Owin, Jonas, Silas and Jethro; and many aunts, uncles and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th Street in Superior. Services will take place on Friday, Nov. 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 2022 E 2 nd St. Superior, with visitation one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alex's family.
