Alice Hugdahl Olson, 85, passed away suddenly from a massive stroke on Monday, April 30th 2012 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital.
Alice was born September 13th, 1926 in Superior, WI to Olaf and Bertha Hugdahl.
Alice married the love of her life, Raymond E. Olson, on July 16, 1949. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in 2011.
Alice was an active member of Holy Assumption Church in Superior, and also enjoyed volunteering for R.S.V.P. Alice was a member of the ladies bowling league, her team took first place this year. Alice worked as an usher at the Palace Theater before her marriage to Raymond.
Alice and Ray enjoyed casino trips with friends and family, and dancing at the Moose Club 606 in Superior. Alice loved gardening and raising flowers in the yard and would share varieties with family. Alice loved her Green Bay Packers and will be wearing her Packer slippers on her voyage home. Ray and Alice were members of the retired Teamsters local organization also.
Alice is survived by two sons, Kenneth Olson (Mary Jane) of Superior and Duane Olson (Janeice Jacobson) of Superior. Her family included 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, and a special Aunt Louise that she grew up with.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugene Olson in 1976; her husband, Raymond in August 2011; her brother, Jim Hugdahl; other relatives, and her cat, Boots.
The family would like to thank the Gold Cross Ambulance service, paramedics, staff in the emergency room at Essentia Hospital, and the folks at the senior meals for all their help and concern. Thank you for your kindnesses and caring support. You were angels sent to us when we needed you most. All the kind words, hugs and Last Rites were greatly appreciated!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday May 3, at 11:00 in Holy Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson as Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Funeral. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
