Amelia Lynn Johnson, 64, also known as Amy Luella Johnson of Superior, died Monday December 4, 2023, at Essentia St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

Amy Luella was born on July 5, 1959, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Earl and Betty (Tessman) Spicer.

She enjoyed coffee with her friends, playing cards, and spending hours on the phone with friends and family. Her door was always open to anyone in need, and many looked to her as a second mom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Betty; sister, Mary Jean Nicholsen; and foster sisters, Mary Joan Compeau and Beth Anderson.

Amy Luella is survived by her children, Scott Anderson of East Grand Forks, MN, Christina Schmiedt of Warren, MN, and Helen (Josh) Wold of Duluth; grandchildren, Tabitha, Gabriel, Quinton, Isabella, Noah and Jacob; brothers, Chuck (Patty) Spicer, Todd (Denise) Spicer, and Kent Spicer; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Amy's Life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from Noon until 4:00 p.m. at the East Grand Forks Eagles Club, 227 10 St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721.
