Andrea "Annie" Gail Williams, 43, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family following a brief neurological disease.
Andrea was born in Superior, WI on March 22, 1978 to Gerald (Jerry) and Linda Williams. She attended Lincoln Elementary, East Junior and Superior Senior High Schools graduating in 1996. She graduated from University of Minnesota-Duluth with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and was working on her Master's Degree in Emergency Preparedness Management.
Andrea was supervisor of Environmental (Housekeeping) services at a local nursing home and at Essentia Hospital/Clinics in Duluth and Superior.
Keeping herself physically fit, Andrea started roller-blade skating as a teenager and with her sister, completed five Grandma's In-line Skate Marathons and numerous in-line skate challenges. She loved the outdoors. Her activities included long distance biking, walking, snowshoeing, camping, paddle boarding, yoga, weightlifting and more.
Andrea thoroughly enjoyed getting together with family and friends for all occasions, sport events, and just being together talking and laughing. To her nieces and nephews she was the fun "Aunt Annie".
She was preceded in death by grandparents Francis and Lois Smith, Wilson and Marcella Williams, and aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her parents, brothers Jay Williams and Todd (Jennifer Androski) Williams, sister and brother-in-law Christa Williams-Clements and Chris Clements, nieces Rene Williams, Madelyne Clements, Claire and Elise Androski and nephews Payton Williams and Lucas Androski, all of Superior, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 21, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th St. with Gary Banker as officiant. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the neurology and nursing teams at both Essentia-Duluth and University of Minnesota-Fairview East, Minneapolis and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care of Andrea these past few months.
If desired memorials may be made to the Douglas County Humane Society, Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross, or the Arbor Day Foundation.
