Anita Jane Greely's Obituary
Anita "Jane" Greely, 85, went peacefully home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 15th, 2011.
She was born November 12, 1925 @ her family home in Superior's East End, and was a lifelong Superior resident.
She married Bill "Pa" Greely on October 14, 1944. Together they loved and raised 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Bill, daughter Shelly, grandchildren Bradley & Keili, sister Margaret Patchin and brothers John Osborne and Donald Osborne.
"Jane", as she preferred to be called, worked behind the fountain @ Newberry's Five and Dime, and the Food Service @ Superior Memorial Hospital. She was a faithful member of First Covenant Church in Superior; in her later years she volunteered as the Greeting-Card-Sender and a secretary for the church. She loved sketching, classic Hollywood movies, and Hollywood award shows. She collected porcelain birds, which she wanted divided among her grandchildren after her death.
She is survived by her sisters Janet Raik (Superior) and Jessie Johnson (Tucson, AZ); her children Bill Greely (Dianne), Sharyn Remer, Sandy Petzold (Chet), Susan Greely, Sally Thompson(Rich), Sheila Parker (John), and Stacey Greely.
Visitation will be @ 2 PM Thursday, January 20th @ First Covenant Church (3311 Hammond Avenue) in Superior. The Memorial Service will follow @ 3 pm. Inurnment will be in the spring @ the family plot in Nemadji Cemetery.
Arrangements are being coordinated by Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.
