Anita Fay Soland, 75, of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, January 5 ^th , 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.

Born November 13 ^th , 1943 in Fargo, North Dakota.  She was the daughter of the late Malcom and Gladys Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Brian Kenneth Soland; two children, son Stuart Brian Soland (wife Christine) of Superior, Wisconsin, and Sheila Fay Marciniak (husband Doug) of Alexandria, Minnesota; six grandchildren,  A.J., Monica, Heather, Grant, Aaron and Ryan; along wih two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Luke.

Anita was also survived by two siblings; brother, Merle (Diane) Wilson and sister, Beverly Fletcher.

Anita was a wonderful, caring and loving Mother and Grandmother who was very talented and creative.  She loved to sew and quilt and was artfully involved with the Northland Quilters and their annual quilt show.  She loved to bake while generously sharing her treats with neighbors and friends and her home was always open for visitors.

She was an extraordinary woman with a strong spirit and kind heart. She was involved in many community events and volunteered her time to multiple non-profits and organizations.  Anita drove the water tanker for Lake Nebagamon's volunteer fire department and also worked as the Treasurer on Lake Nebagamon's village board.

In recent times she was especially grateful for her friendships at the Benedictine Day Program in Duluth.  They treated her like gold!

Visitation will be from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. service, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street.
