Anne Edgren, 85, of Duluth, died Monday, September 14, 2020.

She was born June 17, 1935, to Roy and Betty (Bergstrom) Edgren.

Anne adored her rescue dogs, hockey, curling, Duluth in the fall, breakfast at Sunshine Cafe, neighborhood walks, and she lived a simple life. Anne was a curling champion in her younger years. She felt deeply for her friends and her work at St. Luke's hospital.

She volunteered for Animal Allies for many years, in the early days fostering dogs in her home, then volunteering at the city shelter when Animal Allies shared that space (1998-2008).  From 2009-2015, she and her dog, Rosie, spent time every week visiting assisted living residents and doing volunteer pet therapy at those sites on behalf of Animal Allies.  She was a mentor to many rookie fosters and volunteers.

A special note of thanks to her awesome friends, plus Spirit Valley Assisted Living, and North Shore Estates Rehab. She was grateful and thankful to the end. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Allies in Duluth.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020, at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
