Anne F. Kossak, 92, of Superior, died Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

She was born May 23, 1926 in Superior.

Anne was a registered nurse in Chicago, Illinois; Ashland and Superior, WI.

One of her greatest interests was the outdoors, especially her time feeding the birds and animals. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin, crafting, traveling and being with her large circle of friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Stanley in 1997; and partner-in-crime, Marilyn Kantarik.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie (David) Melbye, West Sacramento, CA; sons, Stanley "Sam" L. (Susan) Kossak, Jr., Superior, and Joseph J. Kossak, Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren, Kelly, Amanda, Kayla, Stanley Andrew, Kalene, Kevin and Malorey; and a great-granddaughter, Adalynn.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior, with Reverend Father William Fider officiating.

Pallbearers will be David Melbye, Kevin Melbye, Mike White and Jeff Kantarik.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to the Humane Society of Douglas County, 138 Moccasin Mike Road, Superior.
