Archie Olaf Benson, 76 of Superior died on Monday, December 26, 2022, in Essentia St. Mary's – Superior.

He was born on May 7, 1946, in Superior to Thelma (Dickman) and Archie Benson. Archie graduated from Central High School in 1964. He married Mary Ernst on April 20, 1968, in Superior.

Archie learned the cabinet making trade from Erlanson and went on his own as a young man.  He was the founder of Benson Cabinets, working as the owner/operator successfully for 50 years until sold.  Archie was one of the best in the industry, he took great pride in his work, and he worked long hard hours over the years.

He was extremely fortunate to work and live close to his children and grandchildren, they would see or at least talk to each other daily.  Archie will be remembered for putting other people's needs before his own.

He enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Lake Nebagamon with his family.  Archie loved fishing and hunting, but he was passionate about deer hunting with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Doug Benson, his sister, Tootie Sharpe, and son in-law, Michael Strong

Archie is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Bill (Linda) Benson; Kathy (Kelly) Levine and Karey (Steve Paulson) Strong; his grandchildren, Billy and Tyler Benson, Nicole (Pat Peterson) Levine, Kasey (Tony) Bye, Taylor Southerton, and Michael Strong; his great grandchildren, Bradley and Emma Peterson, Autumn, Willow, and Rainey Bye, James, Reese and Archie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Log Cabin Saturday, February 4, 2023, from Noon to 3:00 pm.
