Arlis Jean Miller, 81, of Hawthorne Township, Wis. died Tues., May 13, 2014 in St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, Minn.
She was born April 5, 1933 in Superior, Wis. to Angeline (Jacobson) and Clarence Doolittle.
Arlis and Ray owned and operated the Red Barn Tavern in Hawthorne .She also had been employed as a bartender in other Hawthorne area taverns.
She is survived by three sons, Ray Jr., Gene, and Alvin Miller all of Hawthorne; four granddaughters, Stephanie Rasmussen, Angela (Mike) Skylondz and Arlee and Sarah Miller; two grandsons, Ryan and Harley Miller; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Carsen, Gavin, Veda, Savannah, Alexis, and Alessia; five sisters, Marlene, Betty, Nancy, Linda, and Suzy; a brother, Jim; a brother-in-law, Bud Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband of 60 years, Ray A. Miller, died on Oct. 21, 2013. She was also preceded by her parents, a sister, and a brother.
A celebration of Arlis' life will be from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Road House Bar, 9050 E. County Road B on Saturday.
