Obituary

Celebrating the life of Barbara Ann Bronson, a woman defined by faith, family and friendships, passed away peacefully, after a 12-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, leaving behind a legacy of love on May 20, 2026.

Born on November 19, 1938, in Dearborn, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of Alexander and Caroline (Kontrim) Sagal.

Mom’s journey took her to Superior, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Cathedral High school in 1956. It was in Superior that she built her life, rooted in community and family.

On June 15, 1963, she married the love of her life, Donald Bronson. Mom and Dad built a home filled with warmth, caring, chaos, and devotion to family.

While our mom had a number of interests, her heart belonged to her family. Many of her greatest joys involved watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren complete, perform, and grow up into the people she grew to love more and more each day.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated member of the former St. Louis church and most recently a faithful parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Her commitment to service was evident through her active involvement in: St. Mary’s auxiliary, catholic daughters, beta sigma phi sorority, where she was a sister for over 50 years.

Mom was happiest while enjoying the simple pleasures pf life. Volunteering within the community, going on adventures with dad, rummage sales, catching up with friends or enjoying family time at the cabin. She always put the wants and needs of others before hers, right up to her final days.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Bronson, Superior, WI; sons , Anthony “Tony” (Terri) Bronson, Superior, Christopher (Leanne) Bronson, Superior and Francis (Holly) Bronson, Hudson WI; daughter Elizabeth “Liz” (Aaron) Olson, Waconia, MN; Grandchildren, Tanner Marion, Andrew (Amanda) Bronson, Abigail Stephen) Convington, Anthony (Jordan) Bronson, Nicholas Bronson, Emma (Jacob) Herrity, Ethan Olson, Yuri Bronson, Marina Bronson, Agelina Bronson, Isabella (Ian) Baribeau, Anna (Tanner) Dehnke, James Bronson.
