Barbara J. Halladay, 69, of Maple and formerly of Superior, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
She was born August 13, 1941 in Superior, daughter of Willard and Lucille (Krier) Roe.
Her work history included Dawn's Café, where she worked as a cook and waitress for many years. Prior to that, she was a secretary for various businesses in Superior.
Barb enjoyed reading, playing bingo, watching the news and game shows on TV, listening to classic country music, cooking, baking, watching her grandchildren show their cattle at the fair, and having the grandkids spend weekends at her home.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James in 2007; and brother, Keith Roe.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy (Randy) Rosburg, Somerset, Wis., Wendy Urie, Somerset, Wis., and Holly (Troy) Thompson, S. Range, Wis.; son, Scott (Lezlie) Halladay, Cloverland, Wis.; grandchildren, Amanda (Ben) Arnes, Kevin Raivala, Ashley Halladay, Heidi Halladay, Alyssa Johnson, Cory Swanson and Mallory Swanson; great-grandchildren, Dylan Nelson and Cole Arnes; sisters, Janet (Ray) Westerlund, Hibbing, Minn., Brenda (Dennis) Christenson, Superior, and Rhonda (Mark) Orville, Superior; brothers, James Roe, Anoka, Minn., Terry Roe, Superior, Randy (Laurie) Roe, Anoka, Minn., and Tim Roe, Superior; sister-in-law, Shirley Aldridge, Arizona, brother-in-law, Earl (Sue) Halladay, Grand Junction, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service Friday, October 8, 2010 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Patrick Ziems officiating.
Committal prayers will be at Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Following the committal service, everyone is invited to a luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church, Superior.
