Barbara Ann
Landerville
Dec 14, 1979 — Oct 13, 2026
Superior
Barbara Ann Launderville, age 46, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at her residence.
Barbara was born on December 14, 1979, in Superior, Wisconsin, to Ruby F. (Kotera) and Allan D. Launderville. She worked at Walmart for five years and enjoyed the outdoors, especially four-wheeling, fishing, and ice fishing. She loved butterflies, cats, and watching Animal Planet. An avid reader, Barbara enjoyed the novels of Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
Barbara treasured the friendships she built throughout her life. Her lifelong friend, Rob Dowell, met her while they worked together at East End Hardware more than 20 years ago. Their friendship grew into a lasting bond, and Rob stood by Barbara through life's challenges, always offering a helping hand and a place to turn when she and Jesse needed it.
Barbara shared many special memories with her longtime friend Tammy Revier, including hiking and enjoying their favorite Mexican dinners. Her childhood best friend, Lora Lee, remembers Barbara polishing her nails daily to match her school outfits, talking on the phone, and spending hours reading and studying in the library. The two also loved finding ways to terrorize Lora's brother! Her niece, Ruby Launderville, remembers the joy they shared discovering and exploring different parks together.
Above all, Barbara cherished her son, Jesse. Although life was not always easy for them, they always had each other. Jesse fondly remembers sitting with his mom as she showed him animal picture books and asked him to guess the animals. They loved watching movies together, including Finding Nemo, Aladdin, and Spirit. They also enjoyed visiting Guadalajara and Perkins and walking through Amnicon Falls, Pattison State Park, and Billings Park.
Barbara's mother was also incredibly special to her. Next to Jesse, her mom was her favorite person in the world. Jesse finds comfort in knowing that his mom and grandmother are now reunited.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Allan Launderville, and her sister, Jane Launderville.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Jesse (Mikey) Wicklund of Duluth; her siblings, Joyce (Duane) Stangland and David Launderville; her lifelong friend, Rob Dowell; and the many friends and family members who will forever cherish her memory.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held at a later date.
Barbara will be remembered for the love she shared, the friendships she treasured, her appreciation for nature and animals, and the countless memories she leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew her.
