Obituary

Barbara J. LaVine, 76, drifted away peacefully surrounded by her family February 6, 2016 at Essentia Health- St Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. A lifelong Superior native born October 12, 1939 to Paul and Anne (Stromko) Snyder.

Barbara graduated from Superior Cathedral High School, where her beautiful voice performed many solos at church and school. She worked for the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company, Barko Hydraulics and Superior Vocations Center. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Her strongest passion in life was caring and cooking for her family; and her love for all the holidays.

Preceding her in death was her father Paul Snyder; uncles, Ben Stromko, Joe Stromko, and Eddie Snyder; aunts, Margaret (Jim) Heagney, Helen (Arthur) Berdnt, and Betty (Ernie) Fraser.

Survived by her mother, Anne Snyder, Superior; daughters, Cathy (Dan) Orlandi, Superior, and Susan (Mark) Radzak, Minong; grandchildren, Alexandra, Adam, and Sara; great-grandchildren, Miguel and Josiah.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 E. 4th Street, Superior, on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Reverend Father James Tobolski will be the celebrant.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Villa-Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care.
