Barbara L. Nyberg, 67, of Superior, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

She was born November 9, 1944 in Superior, daughter of Martha (Leaf) and Edward Gruebele.

Barb's work history started with Superior Memorial Hospital, then 19 years as a CNA at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center, and concluded at WalMart in Superior and Arizona.

She enjoyed gardening, watching her birds and nature's outside animals, watching game shows and traveling; however, her greatest love was spending time with friends and family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Richard "Rick" Nyberg in 2009; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Nyberg, Superior; sons, Larry Nyberg, Duluth, and Todd (Donna) Nyberg, Pickford, Michigan; grandchildren, Joseph (Nell) Nyberg, Kacey Nyberg-Pope (Ben), Mark Nyberg and Joshua Nyberg; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Cayden Nyberg; brother, Robert (Carol) Gruebele, Maple, WI; sisters, Mary (Joe) Chromasta, Iron River, WI, and Ida Mae Korhonen, Superior; an aunt, Lorraine Leaf, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday, June 8, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Chaplain Ronald P. Henely will officiate.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kacey Nyberg-Pope and Joseph Nyberg.

Committal prayers will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, with a luncheon to follow at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church.
