Obituary

Barbara Jean Renman, 74, of Lake Nebagamon, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Villa Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center in Superior after a long battle with breast cancer.

Barb was born in Superior, WI on Feb. 28, 1942, the daughter of Roy and Alice (Gelling) Renman. She graduated from Superior Central High School in 1960.

Barb worked summers at Camp Nebagamon and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in 1964. She began her teaching career at Colton, SD High School and later taught special education in Minneapolis, MN for Hennepin Technical College, Intermediate District 287 until retiring in 2007 after 39 years of service.

Barb was active in the Mission Covenant Church, Women's Bible Study and on serving committees. She was proud of her Swedish and Manx heritage, making several trips to the Isle of Man and visiting relatives in Sweden. She was a member of the Wisconsin Manx Society, the Amnicon Centennial Committee and the Lake Nebagamon Garden Club.

Barb is survived by her brother, Fred (Nancy) Renman, South Range; sister-in-law, Elvera Renman, South Range; nephew, Paul (Wendy) Renman, South Range, step-great-niece, Bridget and son Ryan; nephew, Michael (Kelly) Renman, great-nieces and great-nephew, Amelia, Audrey and Andrew of Woodbury, MN; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William (Bill) Renman.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, July 1, and will continue until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar with Pastor Darrell Nelson, officiating.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Superior, WI.

If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Mission Covenant Church Building Fund or Covenant Park Bible Camp.
