Barbara Marie Van Ert's Obituary
Barbara Marie Van Ert, 72, lifelong resident of Superior, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
Barbara was born on January 16, 1943 the daughter of Edward and Hazel Van Ert. She graduated from Central High School in 1961.
She had worked for Central Co-ops, owned the Yarn Basket, was co-owner of Banks Roofing and also a tax preparer at H&R Block. She was an avid knitter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Donald and Gene Van Ert.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Beverly (Tom) Vosburgh; brothers, Gerald Van Ert, Sr. and Dale (Jackie) Van Ert all of Superior; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday Nov. 1 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave in Superior. Visitation will resume on Monday Nov. 2 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the United Presbyterian Church. Rev. Joe Huenemann will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Gerald Van Ert, Jr., Kevin Van Ert, James Schmidt, Jerry Schmidt, Dennis Quam and Dave Flemming.
If desired, memorials in Barbara's name may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or the United Presbyterian Church.
