Bertha Marie Hannu, 94, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Bertha was born on June 17, 1926, in Hawthorne, WI to John and Bertha Falk. She graduated from East High School in Superior in 1944.

She was married to William Hannu in 1951, and together they raised two sons in Oakland, WI. William preceded her in death in 2003.

Bertha was the pianist for the Oakland Presbyterian Church for many years and later was active in the Whispering Pines Evangelical Free Church in Hawthorne. She was an active member of the Hillcrest Ladies Aide group until its discontinuation in the 1980's.

Bertha is survived by her sons David of LaCrosse, WI, and Robert of Las Vegas, NV.

Visitation will be at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street in Superior on Monday, August 30 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Bennett Cemetery on Tuesday, August 31 at 11 a.m.
