Bertha E. Johnson, 85, of Superior, died Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Twin Ports Health Services.
Bertha was born in Cass Lake, MN on May 29, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Noonan) Countryman.
She graduated from Bemidji High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Bemidji State University. Bertha had worked different jobs over the years including, Social Rehabilitation in nursing homes, home health care as a caregiver, Safford's office supply, and Younkers.
Bertha enjoyed puzzles, playing games on her tablet, and solitaire. She loved listening to country music, taking care of her many plants, and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Mann; husband, Helmer Hanson; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Bertha is survived by her husband of 17 years, Arthur Johnson; sons, Ronald Mann and Russell (Ann) Mann; stepchildren, Dale (Gail) Johnson, Ronald (Dawn) Johnson, Steve Johnson, Kim Hallowell, Deanne (Dave) Nindorf, and Doreen (Terry) Stenger; 2 grandchildren; twin brother, Wesley Countryman; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14th from 11:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., with Pastor Darrell Kyle as officiant.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Minong at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Twin Ports Health Services and Essentia Hospice for their wonderful care of Bertha.
