She was a member of the 1st Evangelical Covenant Church. She was also a volunteer for many years with home health care for the handicapped and was truly a dedicated and caring person in this field.

Bertha was extremely devoted to her family and provided a loving home, where family and friends were always welcome. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking delicious desserts, with Scandinavian sweets being her specialty.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren liked playing the games that she taught them, Up and Down The Ladder and Rummy. They gave her the title of "The Queen of Rummy". She also liked playing Bingo.

Bertha is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, JoAnn Paula (Donald) Mihalak of Superior and Patty Sanko of Minneapolis, Minn.; six grandchildren, Ryan, Stephen, Jenny and Angie Mihalak and Gordy and Stephannie Myette; five great-grandchildren, Kitana Tadych, Emilee Myette-Tallman, Alexa and Domino Mihalak and Shamiya Myette; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Norman Forness; and a sister, Myrtle Keller-Jensen.

Her memorial service will be held Tuesday June 8, at 11:00 am at the 1st Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Dennis M. Anders and Pastor Steve Staurseth co-officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of the Cedar Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown Bertha during her stay there. A special thank you is also extended to the staff of the Northern Bridges and Indianhead Community Action Home Services for the years of help and kindness they had shown our Mother.
