Obituary

Betty Jane Bergstrom, 91, of Lake Nebagamon, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Superior.

Betty was born in Hawthorne on March 19, 1921 the daughter of George and Esther Schueler.

She married Douglas Bergstrom on Dec. 28, 1940 and they moved to Milwaukee in 1941 until retiring to their home on Lake Minnesuing in 1977. They recently celebrated 72 years of marriage.

Betty was a member of Whispering Pines Evangelical Free Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Order of the White Shrine. She had been a leader of the Brownies and Girl Scouts for over 20 years. She enjoyed collecting, sports and she also loved horses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Anders Groth; sister, Marian "Chum" Sandeen; and a brother, Eugene "Gene" Schueler.

Betty is survived by her husband, Douglas; two daughters, Pamela (Peter) Lowe of Batavia, Ill and Sandra (Gregory) Groth of Franklin, Wis.; grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Steven, Gunnar and Gard; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Taia, Alyssa, Nathan and Samuel.

Her funeral service will be on Fri. Mar. 8 at Noon at Whispering Pines Evangelical Church in Hawthorne. Rev. Tom Lindberg will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hawthorne this spring.
