Betty J. Schuster, 81, of Superior died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Middle River Health & Rehab. Center.

Betty was born July 30, 1932 in Hawthorne Township to Myrtle (Rusk) and Nels G. Sutherland.

Her work history includes Roth Bros. Department Store, Ekstrom's Clothing, Dr. John Howard's Dental Office, and being the manager at Golden Apartments.

She and her husband, George E. married on March 3, 1951.

She is survived by her husband; a son, James of Lake Nebagamon; two grandsons, James and Kyle (Melissa) Schuster; her great-granddaughters, Tailor, Kayleigh, and Payton Schuster; three sisters, Dorothy Doyle, Jeanette (Ed) Zelma, and Shirley Johnson all of Superior; her sisters-in Law, Florence Daley of Falls Church, Virginia, and Shirley Nasheim of Mason City, Iowa.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Donald Sutherland.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. March 29, 2014 in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel, corner of 19 ^th & Ogden Ave., with Rev. Sarah Kerkes officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hawthorne.

Pallbearers will be Gary and Levi LaPorte, Ryan Hoerchner, and Kyle, James E. and James J. Schuster.

The family would like to thank the Middle River staff for the kindness and care they gave to Betty.
