Beverly J. Ayers, 93, longtime resident of the Superior area, died Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Heritage Haven Assisted Living in Duluth.
Beverly was born on Dec. 7, 1927, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Gertrude (DeVries) and John Eastman.
She was a member of the Apostolic Gospel Church in Duluth where she taught Sunday School for a number of years, she worked as a bank teller for the First National Bank of Superior, and served as the Treasurer for the Town of Summit. Beverly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going for walks, and beating you at the game of Skip-Bo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard 'Bud'; and siblings, Hazel, Shirley, Jack, Pat, Robert, Ray, Sharon, and Donald.
Beverly is survived by her children, Randy Ayers of Foxboro, Cindy Smith of Cloquet, Donald (Susie) Ayers of Anchorage, Terry (Keri) Ayers of Foxboro, and Tim (Missy) Ayers of Minong; grandchildren, Xuan Lé (Sang) Vu, Donnie (Melissa) Ayers, Jonathan (Amy) Ayers, Becky Ayers, Timmy (Julie) Ayers, and Brian (Heather) Ayers; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Dan Eastman; and sisters-in-law, Jean Eastman and Sharon Eastman.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 4-6 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 th St., Superior. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 4 p.m. until the 5 p.m. funeral service at the Apostolic Gospel Church, 3882 Haines Rd, Duluth. Rev. Scott Taylor will officiate.
Her funeral service will be live streamed through the Apostolic Gospel Church Facebook page.
Burial will be in Summit Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
