Bonnie Kay Buck, 59, of Barnes, Wis., died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at her sister's home in Gheen, Minnesota.

She was born November 14, 1949 in Superior, daughter of Bernadine (DeRosia) and George Sletten.

Bonnie married Joseph Buck in Superior on March 28, 1980.

Her work history included 16 years as a cook for the Douglas County Sheriff's office, over 13 years as the manager of the snack bar at Wal-Mart and several years as constable for Bayfield County in the town of Barnes.

Bonnie was a member of the International Poets Society. Some of her other interests included wood crafting, the outdoors, wildlife (especially the wolf and eagle), snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, picking berries, camping, swimming, being a first responder (she has saved several lives), and visiting the casinos. Furthermore, she was always concerned about others before herself.

Preceding her in death was her mother, Bernadine Sletten; and brother, Timothy Sletten.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Buck; daughters, Pamela (James) Johnson, Blaine, Minn., Bernadine (Michael) Reynolds, Ridge, N.Y., Lynette Beckwell, Barnes, Wis., and Carla (Bill) Burbul, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; step-children, Kathy (Dan) Parent, Marengo, Wis., Joseph Buck Jr., Superior, Tammy (Bruce) LePage, Nekoosa, Wis., George Buck, Randy (Danelle) Buck, Troy (Kim) Buck and Janice (Shawn) Martineau, all of Superior; grandchildren, Matthew, Olivia, Brooklyn, Abbee, Danny, Michael, Nathan, Paige, Melissa, Tonya, Damian, Melinda, Misty, Joseph III, Preston, Tamika, Travis, Austin, Felicia, Alex, Jolice, Tawney, Cameron, Jaydon, and Hunter; 23 great-grandchildren; father, George Sletten Sr., Superior, sisters, Carol Zallor, Gheen, Minn., and Kimberly "Sam" (Grant) Koskie, Superior; brothers, Jerry (Linda) Soyring, Maple, and George (Evie) Sletten, Poplar; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and very special friends, Richard and Judy Larson, Barnes.

The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, and will resume at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday at the funeral home. Reverend Mark Holmes, pastor of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church will officiate.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Reynolds, William Wicklund, James Johnson, Gary Bergman, Chad Sletten and Richard Larson. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Beckwell, Joshua Johnson and Eugene DeRosia.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
