Camiel 'Bud' James Hartshorn, Jr, 76, of Wadena, MN and formerly of Superior, passed away after a courageous health fight on August 19, 2024, surrounded by family at Essentia – St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

Bud was born on Oct. 6, 1947, the son of Camiel and Dorothy (Mossberger) Hartshorn, Sr.

Bud worked on ships, sailing the Great Lakes before moving to Wadena, MN where he worked for Homecrest Outdoor Living until retirement. During retirement he became a custodian at Perham High School.

He was a diehard Packer Fan and also enjoyed watching boxing. Bud loved to fish and spending time with family and friends. He was proud to be a 'North Ender' from Superior and was a jolly person who never turned down a sweet treat.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jean (David) Koukol, JoAnn (Larry) Melloh; brother, Ernest Hartshorn; a nephew, niece, and many other relatives.

Bud is survived by his life partner of 42 years, Marge Pearson; two stepdaughters, Candy (Ray) Pearson and Tina (Bryan) Beck; grandchildren, Brittany (Jagger) Murdock, Tiffany Schmitz, Trysta (Gaven) Peterson-Roberts, and Dawson Beck, great grandchildren, Teagen, Caiden, Violet Schmitz, Wynter and Kaisen Murdock, and Baylee Peterson-Roberts; sister, Marlene 'Tiny' (Lee) Cooper; brother, Carl Hartshorn; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 23rd from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St, with Gary Banker as officiant. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Travis Cooper, David Koukol, Larry Melloh, Dakoda Hartshorn, Luke Krisak, and Dawson Beck. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
