Obituary

Capt. Stanley W. Rozowski, 91, a lifelong resident of Superior, Wis. died Tues., Jan. 13, 2015, in the Golden Living Center, Superior.

He was born Nov. 27, 1923 in Superior to Sophie (Kubesnski) and John Rzeszowski.

Stan was a Captain having sailed on the Great Lakes, and was a Pilot for the Upper Great Lakes Pilot Association.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Pierce of Superior; a son, Jeffrey (Julie) Rozowski of Superior; grandchildren, Charity (Arthur) Alcantara, Christy (Chris) Zentkowski, Casey (Kara) Rozowski, Corey Rozowski, Cariann (Chris) Kinn, Cayla Rozowski, Corrine (Carter Carpenter) Rozowski, and Chase Rozowski; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Kaleb, Kloe, Matthew, Lorraine, Asher and Tessa; a brother, Peter Rozowski of Brookfield, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews

Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife, Corrine in 1988; a grandson, Chad Rozowski in 2001; brothers and sisters, Frank, Mary, Pauline, Helen, Katherine, Martha, Paul, Edward and Joe.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 17th in Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden & 19th St., and will continue until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski, Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church officiating. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Committal prayers will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
