Carl A. Beckwell, 77, of Superior, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Essentia Health- St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

He was born in Superior on July 28, 1940, the son of Clarence and Eva Beckwell.

Carl worked at Georgia Pacific for over 39 years and retired as a supervisor.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He appreciated wildlife, and never missed a day feeding his wild animals.  He enjoyed 4-wheeling, cribbage, ore boats, thrift shopping and going on long rides.  Carl especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; grandson, Matthew Beckwell; and sister, Rosie.

Carl is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Robert) Barnard of Grantsburg, WI, Bernadette Beckwell of Ridge, NY, Lynette Beckwell of Barnes, WI, Carla Martin of Superior; son, Carl Beckwell Jr., of Superior; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin (Leola) Beckwell and James Beckwell, both of Superior; sister, Georgia Henry; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 3:00 until the 6:00 p.m. memorial service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street.
