Carl Joseph Bumbal, age 90, formerly of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully at his home in Northglenn, Colorado on August 11, 2024, due to a heart attack and complications from Interstitial Lung Disease.
Carl was born on November 23, 1933, to Joseph and Marian Bumbal in Duluth, MN. He attended Duluth public schools and served honorably in the United States Navy. Carl married Blanche Joyce Haupert on August 20, 1954, and they had a daughter and son, Debra and Joe. Carl was employed as a manager for Bridgeman Creameries in Duluth for 16 years until he moved from Duluth to Colorado in the early 1970's.
Carl remarried to Lorraine Pedersen on May 25, 1984, and they made their home in Northglenn, Colorado where he worked for many years in the restaurant business, selling real estate and in his later years drove truck for JB Hunt.
Carl was an avid fisherman and loved returning to Duluth every summer for fishing and cabin time with his family. He also loved to spend time in Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin where he had many special memories of time spent with his parents and grandparents. Carl enjoyed writing his own music, playing guitar and leaves his family with many wonderful memories.
Carl is survived by his wife, Lorraine Bumbal, his daughter Debra Goldman (Greg), his son Joe Bumbal (Cindy), Granddaughter Andrea Sawers (Youssef), Grandson Daniel Goldman and 4 great grandchildren, Lila and Owen Sawers and Griffin and Charlie Goldman. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Sue Johnson (Larry), stepson Bob Pedersen (Piper), his stepdaughter Diane Britton (Jack), 11 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his sister, Delores Lamphier and granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Goldman.
Funeral services were held at Olinger Highland Mortuary, Northglenn, Colorado on August 19, 2024.
Burial and private family graveside service will be held on August 24, 2024 at Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin.
