Carl Otto Peterson, age 78 of Superior, formerly of Oakland, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Carl was born May 9, 1945, in Superior, WI to Swan H. Peterson and Agnes A. (Bergquist) Peterson. Carl met the love of his life, Linda Roberts, in 1965. They were married on September 3, 1966, in Superior, WI. They were blessed with two daughters and a son.

Carl worked for Douglas County Highway Department for 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Carl also enjoyed playing card games with family and friends.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda; his children, Christine Smith, Theresa Townsend, and Carl (Mindy) Peterson; grandchildren, Megan (Damian) Best, Brittany Smith, Cory Townsend, Brandon Peterson, and Tyler Peterson; and great grandchildren, Daneya Best and Dakota Best.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn Peterson.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, November 4, from 12-4pm, at the Oakland Town Hall, 6152 S County Rd K, South Range, WI 54874.
