Carl R. Syring, 95, of Superior, died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

He was born October 17, 1923 in Superior, son of Carl W. and Clara (Neumann) Syring.

Carl was a dairy farmer and always had a love for animals.  Many times he would care for a sick calf or cow and help it recover. Another interest of Carl's was auctions, especially farm auctions. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Elroy, Marshall and Lawrence; and sister, Doris Meinke.

Survivors include his sisters, Leone Syring, Superior, and Janet Ohvall, Menomonie, WI; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior.

Pallbearers will be Scott Halladay, Jerry Buck, Bill Maula, Joe Gerber, Larry Erickson and Tom Johnstad.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.

Following the committal service, everyone is invited to the Superior Town Hall, for a luncheon.
