Bill retired as a machinist on the Soo Line Railroad after forty-one years of employment. After his retirement in 1982 he and Evelyn made several trips to Arizona and Florida.

He was an excellent bowler on the Soo Line team, having bowled at the former Waletzko Lanes. He loved being in the outdoors and especially at the family's cabin at Lake Nebagamon, Wis. He carved various pieces of beautiful art work from logs cut on his property.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lee Bergquist; a step-son, Terry Lund; and two brothers-in-law, Ollie Laurila and Joe Pritchard.

Willy is lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-four years, Ev. He is also survived by three sons, Steven Bergquist of Gilbert, Ariz., Donn (Del) Bergquist of Lake Nebagamon, and Ted Bergquist of Superior; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Bergquist of Superior; a step-son, Dr. Steve (Kathy) Lund of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Marge Pritchard of Blue Eye, Missouri and Marilyn (Glenn) Parish of Lake Nebagamon; his first wife, Virginia Bergquist of Superior; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Laurila of Superior; grandchildren, Nicole (Mark) Stephens, Miles, Jessica, Brian, and Casey (Sarah) Bergquist, Sarah (Scott) Korba, Andrea (Robert) Barnes, Eric, T. J. and Myles Lund, and Amanda (TJ) Dale; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special family, Ken and Karen Thimm and their families.
