Carol J. Halverson, 82, of Superior, died Friday, November 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
She was born January 23, 1931 in Superior, daughter of William and Mabel (Dixon) Reynolds.
Carol was a 1948 graduate of Superior East High School. She attended UWS and completed her x-ray technician certification at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth. She then worked as an x-ray technician at Mounds View Park Hospital.
On May 12, 1956 in Superior, Carol J. Reynolds and Raymond E. Halverson were united in marriage.
Carol was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, PEO Chapter AD and B.P.O.E. # 403.
She loved spending time with family and friends at their cabin on Ruth Lake in Iron River. At the cabin, she especially enjoyed the role of lifeguard. Some other interests of Carol's were gardening and golfing.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dr. Raymond E. Halverson on January 29, 2013; and sister, Ruth L. Reynolds.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara (Walter) Haugen, Foxboro; sons, Mark (Connie) Halverson, Lake Nebagamon, Erik (Robin) Halverson, West Linn, Oregon, and Christopher Halverson, Superior; grandchildren, Owen Haugen, Sean, Eric, Paul and Christie Halverson; sister, Janet (Dr. Allen) Young, Duluth; brothers, William (Carolyn) Reynolds, Superior, and Edward (Linda)Reynolds, El Cajon, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Friday, December 6, 2013 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Avenue, Superior, with Pastor Ashley Nicolls officiating.
The committal service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
