Carol Jean
Lisdahl
June 22, 1946 – November 1, 2016
Carol Jean Lisdahl, 70, of Lake Nebagamon passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN with her loving husband and family by her side.
Carol was born in Superior on June 22, 1946 to Tony and Esther (Anderson) Yaworski. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1964. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and spent 34 years as a teacher, including 30 years with the New Berlin, WI public school system as a physical education teacher.
Carol is best known as a beautiful woman who made people laugh and always made sure everyone had a good time. She was a devoted partner to her best friend, partner-in-crime and husband of fifty years, Alan Lisdahl. She was sports lover and an avid golfer and curler. The Wisconsin Badgers and Packers have lost a fantastic fan. She was a consistent champion at the yearly family-sponsored Yaworski Golf Open. She curled 34 years at the Kettle Moraine Curling Club in Hartland, WI and several years at the Superior Curling Club. Her curling friends will always fondly remember her smile and entertaining costumes. In addition to her living in lovely Lake Nebagamon, Carol spent time in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, where she could be found walking the beach, swimming daily, riding banana boats with her grandsons or jumping out of an airplane! During the course of her illness, Carol proved to be a strong, brave woman who fought admirably for her health. She was our sunshine on a cloudy day and will be forever missed.
Carol was preceded in death by her father and mother; sister, Toni Ann Foote; niece and nephew, Cathy and Rick Foote; and brothers-in-law, Richard Foote, Stan Ladich, Ken Lisdahl and Dennis Lisdahl.
She is survived by her husband, Alan; daughter Greta (Steve) Rowe of Oconomowoc, WI; daughter Krista Lisdahl of Pewaukee, WI; the lights of her life- grandsons Max, Oscar and Duke; sister Maurine Ladich of Lake Nebagamon; sisters-in-law Inez Stevenson of Central Islip, New York and Linda (Ron) Moen of the Town of Superior; brother-in-law Thomas (Kathy) Lisdahl of Amnicon; and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon, WI on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at noon. Rev. Darrell Kyle will officiate. Interment will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery followed by lunch at the church.
