Carol K. Pearson, 77, of Superior died Friday, April 22, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family.
Carol was born in Exeland, WI the daughter of Irving and Della Hanson.
She married Terrance Pearson on April 26, 1958 and they raised 16 children and celebrated 58 years of marriage together.
Carol will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness, strength, and faith. Family was most important to her. She had an unusual ability to connect with people and made each of her children and grandchildren feel uniquely important. During the 1980's, she and Terrance owned 2 small businesses at which Carol worked 15 hour days as the head baker. It was during this time that she developed her well known caramel roll recipe which has been a favorite for over 20 years among the parishioners of her home parish, Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale.
Carol is survived by a brother, Michael Hansen of Wisconsin, her husband, Terrance; children, Mark (Patricia) Pearson of Superior, Mary Pearson, of Superior, John Pearson of Superior, Joseph Pearson of Superior, Jeffery Pearson of Superior, Therese (Dan) Jerrard of Burnsville, MN, Paul (Jamie) Pearson of Hermantown, Catherine (Chris) Glancy of North Carolina, Angel Pearson of Minneapolis, James Pearson of Superior, Peggy Parmeter of Proctor, Bernadette (John) Simonson of Foxboro, Frank (Erika) Pearson of Oulu, Bridgett Pearson of Texas, Jacinta (Jeff) Herman of Superior, and Michael (Adrienne) Pearson of Duluth; as well as 55 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thurs. April 28, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of Christ the King Church. Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. is assisting the family with arrangements.
