Obituary

Carolyn Arlene Reynolds, 80, of Superior, died Sunday February 6, 2022, at Aspen Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, near Superior.

She was born October 7, 1941, in Superior, daughter of Violet (Fagerlin) Liljegren and Carl Liljegren.

Her work in education began near the twin cities and she completed most of her 35-year career in Duluth, teaching 1 st grade at Riverside and Stowe Elementary Schools.

Another proud accomplishment was her being the first female President at the Superior Curling Club where hosting and attending many bonspiels brought her great joy and comradery.

Her travels have taken her to Europe, Russia, and China where she enjoyed learning about new cultures and reading.  She also enjoyed the beaches and nature of Gulf Shores, Alabama with her husband Bill over their winters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William J. Reynolds, Jr.; brother, Richard Liljegren, (Mary), Idaho; sister, Nancy Bubalo (Rudy), Duluth; and beloved Golden Retriever, Buck.

She is survived by her son, William J. Reynolds III, daughter-in-law, Suzanne Reynolds (Gronquist), two grandsons, Zakary and Alex and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until the 10 a.m. service, Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 th Street, Superior.  Gary Banker will be officiating.
