SUPERIOR
Catherine "Kay" Carol Doyle, 72, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior. Kay had resided at Phoenix Villa, Superior.
She was born May 5, 1937 in Superior, daughter of June (Guimond) and Wallace Hoff.
Kay married Lemuel "Lem" Preston and had four wonderful children. She then married John Doyle and had a wonderful life together.
Her work history included a dietician at St. Joseph's Hospital, Superior, for many years; a caregiver; and Peterson Florist.
She was a longtime member of Hope Congregational Church, Dorcus Circle (Women's Ministry), and was a church greeter. She loved her church and spending time with all the people. Kay also enjoyed traveling with her friend Nora to Branson, playing cards with the ladies in her building, and visiting the casino once in awhile.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Doyle; father, Wallace Hoff; and step-father, Chester Mattison.
Survivors include her mother, June Mattison, Superior; children, Tim (Sandy) Preston, Dave (Joy) Preston, Dennis Preston, all of Superior, and Debbie Preston, Menomonie, Wisconsin; step-children, Kathy (John) Zupansic, John (Gwendolyn) Doyle, Dena (Doug) Cook, Sandy (Tim) Preston, Mike (Karen) Doyle and Paul (Cindy) Doyle; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Hoff; sisters, Linda (Tom) Young and Sandy (Don) Piper; step-sisters, Ann (Dick) Melcher, Carol (Don) Williams, Mary (Jeff) Graff, and Lillian (Gary) Levine; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Hope Congregational Church, with Pastor Michael Casperson officiating.
Following the service, everyone is invited to a luncheon in the church fellowship hall, prior to the committal service at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
