Charles G. Gavin, 76, of Superior, died Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth.

He was born January 19, 1943 in Barron, WI, son of Samuel and Olga (Flaw) Gavin.

Charles was honorably discharge from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He then worked 22 years for Superior Fiber Products and 13 years as a CNA for Bayshore Nursing Home.

He enjoyed reading and spending time with his wife, Sandy, family and pets.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Sandy in 2018, whom he spent the best 50 years of his life; and brother, Ronald.

Survivors include his sons, James (Lauren Murff and daughters, Autumn and Winter Rose) Gavin, San Antonio, TX, Chris (Tiffany) Gavin, Mobile, AL, and Mike (Fran Williams and daughters, Khloe and Kamryn) Gavin, Superior; grandchildren, Keithien, Isabella, Abagail and Leah; great-grandchildren, Lily Grace and Adalynn Faith; sister, Sandy; brothers, Phillip, Del and Ray; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from noon until the 1:00 p.m. service, Thursday, December 19 ^th at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior.

Burial with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435, will be in Veterans Memorial Park at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
