Charles V. 'Chuck' Salo, 83, of Superior, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

He was born in Superior on September 30, 1933.

Chuck had worked as a warehouse foreman for Midland Co-op.  He later worked as a bartender for the VFW.  Chuck enjoyed bowling in his spare time.

He preceded in death by his parents; step-son, David Johnson; and brother, Jerry Salo.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 35 years, Katherine; step-sons, Rodney Johnson, TN, and David Elness, CA; and sister-in-law, Liz Salo, CA.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery on Thursday, June 22, at 1:00 p.m. with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
