Cherie L. Bachand, 74, of Superior, died peacefully Saturday August 25, 2018 at Superior Rehab and Nursing Center.

Cherie was born on Jan. 17, 1944 in Iron Mountain, Michigan the daughter of Edger and Genevieve Sweet.

Cherie was an extraordinary woman, a loving wife, an incredible mother and a life long friend to many.    She always had a wonderful smile and a helping hand to anyone in need.  She enjoyed collecting antiques, going to estate sales and attending auctions with her family. Cherie loved animals and was a member of PAWS for many years.  She attended many sporting events over the years with her two sons and their children. Most important to her was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She and Bruce were married October 25 ^th 1963 and enjoyed 55 years of unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother and step-father, Henry Smith; and brothers, William and Jay Smith.

Cherie is survived by her husband, Bruce; sons, Corey (Julia) Bachand and Adam (Carrie) Bachand all of Superior; grandchildren, Aiden, Blake, Maddy, Brady, Grace, Aaron and Annie; brother, Phil (Margaret) Smith; and a nephew Jason Smith.

Visitation will be on Friday Aug. 31 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

If desired, memorials in her name may be made to a local animal shelter.
