Clara M. Larsen, 92, longtime Patzau and Foxboro resident, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Essentia-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

She was born on October 1, 1919 in Holyoke, Minn. the daughter of John and Justine Hedman.

Clara was a homemaker who loved gardening, canning, walking, dancing, fishing and last but not least the Minnesota Vikings.

She was a member of St. William Catholic Church and St. William Altar Society.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice in 2001; her parents, four sisters, a granddaughter and a grandson.

She is survived by her five daughters, Joanne Thompson of Foxboro, Carolyn (Peter) Podgorak of Wascott, Rosemary (Tom) Tessmer of Green Bay, Janet (Peter) Radzak of Foxboro and Marilyn (Mark) Johnson of Danbury; one son, Jeffrey (Lisa) Larsen of Foxboro; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Olson as celebrant. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment will be in Summit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Tom Tessmer, Mark Johnson, Peter Podgorak, Pete Radzak, Brian Thompson and Peter Podgorak, Jr.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and friends at Encompass Health-Superior where Clara spent the last 2 years of her life. The family would also like to say thank you to the Essentia Health Hospice Unit for their kind & compassionate care during the remaining days of her life.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. William Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.

Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th and Ogden is assisting the family with arrangements.
