Crystal L. Bergren, 93, of Superior, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
Crystal was born in Superior on Sept. 29, 1928, the daughter of John 'Ed' and Anna (Anderson) Gunderson.
She had worked as the Deputy Register of Deeds for Douglas County and as an Abstractor with Superior Abstract & Title and Great Lakes Abstract. She had also worked as a secretary for Pilgrim Lutheran Church and with her daughter at Village Lanes.
Crystal enjoyed volunteering and being a part of her community. She was involved in many civic organizations including, Friends of the Brule, Lake Minnesuing Association, and the Superior Elks Lodge #403 Ladies Auxiliary.
Crystal enjoyed bowling, golfing, and cooking. She also enjoyed watching local dirt track racing, playing poker with the boys, and being at the lake. Most important to her was spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jason Bergren; daughter-in-law, Jodi Bergren; siblings, Evelyn Hendrickson, Marvin Gunderson, Eugene Gunderson, and twins George and Gerald Gunderson.
Crystal is survived by her children, Timothy Bergren of Superior, Cindy (Chas) Bloomquist of Lake Nebagamon; grandson, TJ Bergren of Superior; siblings, Donna Erickson of Superior, Vernon (Anna) Gunderson of Eugene, OR; Jeannette (Fred) Atkinson of Gordon, WI and Arlene Ely of Superior; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Crystal's life will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Village Lanes, 6419 Tower Avenue, Superior.
