Curtis Richard "Curt" Holtz, 48, of Superior, died Monday, August 29, 2011 in Superior.
He was born June 8, 1963 in Devils Lake, ND, son of Jacqulyn E.(Bratt) and Darrell W. Holtz.
Curtis graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School in May, 1981.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from July 7, 1981 to July 6, 1984.
Curt worked for LLB Utility Construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years.
On April 12, 2002, in Superior, Tari Herubin and Curtis Holtz were united in marriage.
His interests included camping, fishing, traveling back to North Dakota to visit family, and his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. His grandchildren lovingly referred to him as "Papa".
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Tari; daughter, Marissa J. Holtz, Grand Forks, ND; step-children, Josh Cochran and Paul Cochran, both of Grand Forks, ND, Christie Herubin, Superior, Richard (Nicole) Herubin, Superior, Jamie (Paul) Pearson, Hermantown, MN, and Casey Herubin, Superior; 8 grandchildren; brother, Steve Holtz, Solon Springs, WI; sister, Marjorie Galt, Superior; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Pastor Kris Sauter officiating.
Military rites will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post # 435, at the funeral home.
