Danny C. Nelson, 69, of South Range, died November 2, 2021, at his residence.

He was born March 28, 1952, in Superior, son of Wesley and Joan (Flemming) Nelson.

Danny graduated from Superior High School in 1970 and went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Lucy McPherson, with whom he raised three children and enjoyed 47 beautiful years of marriage.

Danny had a passion for all things automotive and motorsports, and he spent his long career as the owner and operator of Nelson's Show 'n Go, performing auto body and heavy equipment refinishing and repair. His hobbies were plenty, and he enjoyed anything that allowed him to work with his hands, including gardening, cooking, making lamps and clocks, and restoring custom cars. He spent his days caring for his cherished canine companions and the birds that visited his many birdhouses or feeders. But his favorite pastime was taking frequent day trips with Lucy.

Danny is survived by his wife, Lucy; children, Andrew (Ann) Nelson of Watertown, MN, Katie (Jason) VandeKamp of Scandia, MN, and William (Corinne) Nelson of South Range, WI; grandchildren, Ashton and Adaline Nelson, Carter, Parker, and Gavin VandeKamp, and Weston Nelson; brother, David (Kris) Nelson; and many extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering for both Lucy and Danny on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the Noon service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Gary Banker will officiate.
